12 Days of Writerly Christmas

Hey, just for fun, I want to do a 12 days of Christmas for writers. Today is actually the second day of Christmas, so we need to come up with the first and second days of Christmas.

What would you give a writer on the First and Second Days of Christmas? If it rhymes the way the original song does, so much the better. Let's see what kinds of fun things we can come up with.

Here's my contribution: On the first day of Christmas my writing friends gave to me a ream of paper under my tree.

On the second day of Christmas my writing friends gave to me two mugs of cocoa and a ream of paper under my tree.

What are your ideas? Leave a comment and let's see who can come up with some really creative ideas.

  1. I really want to do this, but my brain isn't coming up with anything at at the moment. Maybe after my R.S. party tonight is done (I'm in charge), I'll be able to think. I'll get back to you! It's a cute idea.

  2. Angie,

Isn't it amazing how worry and stress sap our creativity?

Hope to hear from you soon.

  3. According to a religious site on the internet the twelve days of Christmas start with Christmas Day and finish with the eve of Epiphany on 5th January.
Here's part of my "epiphany" encouraged by your post:
On the first day of Christmas my true friends gave to me a laptop under my tree.

On the second day of Christmas my true friends gave to me two reference books and a laptop under my tree.

The rest will be posted on the GoodfellowPublishing.com/blog tomorrow.

    Merry Christmas,

  4. Love it, Margaret!

You're right about the original 12 days of Christmas. In my family we've done it backwards--probably not the only thing we do backwards in my family. :)

Anyway, thanks for playing. I look forward to looking at your list.
